Long Spring Channel Nuts are compatible with Unistrut and equivalent channels. An important aspect of channel nuts is that they are self-locking, one-piece nuts. This means that screws are secured and cannot be rotated loose due to the self-locking feature.

These are typically used in conjunction with channel/strut support systems. As soon as the grooves are tightened, these grooves, which work as small teeth, can be locked onto the channel, allowing the channel to be locked into place.

The purpose of strut channel nuts is to place and secure piping clamps, electrical panels, junction boxes, and electrical panels within channels and conduits. There is a nut attached to the channel with grooves on the side that fits over the edge of the channel and a screw hole. In order to hold the nut in place, a screw is tightened in the nut, causing teeth in the grooves to lock into the channels.

Channel nuts, for example, provide a secure anchor point along the length of the strut for pipe and cable support components.

Once the first channel nut is inserted, place the fitting, then secure it in place with a washer and hex bolt. Secure the second length of the channel, and fasten in the same way.
