Plain channel nuts are fasteners used for connecting metal parts. They are typically made of mild steel and are used to secure metal channels and other structural components. Plain channel nuts are designed to be tightened with a wrench or other tool and can be used in a variety of applications, such as in construction, electrical, and plumbing projects. They are available in a variety of sizes and can be used to secure a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and copper. Plain channel nuts are an economical and reliable way to join metal components and provide a secure connection.
Prices shown for sizes M6, M8, M10, M12 are per box of 100. The price for the M16 is per box of 50. Generally speaking, channel nuts are one-piece, self-locking nuts that secure screws and prevent them from rotating loose.
These are typically used in conjunction with channel/strut support systems. The grooves along the edge function as small teeth that can be locked onto the channel once they are tightened.
The purpose of strut channel nuts is to place and secure piping clamps, electrical panels, junction boxes, and electrical panels within channels and conduits. There is a nut attached to the channel with grooves on the side that fits over the edge of the channel and a screw hole. In order to hold the nut in place, a screw is tightened in the nut, causing teeth in the grooves to lock into the channels.
Channel nuts, for example, provide a secure anchor point along the length of the strut for pipe and cable support components.
Plain Channel Nuts are compatible with Unistrut and equivalent channels. As a matter of fact, these one-piece self-locking nuts secure screws thus preventing them from loosening when vibration is present.
Once the first channel nut is inserted, place the fitting, then secure it in place with a washer and hex bolt. Secure the second length of the channel, and fasten in the same way.
